Who We Are

      Since Lafayette Bible Church began, we have been and continue to be a community of believers who share a heart to hear God speak through the proclamation of God’s Word. 

      From our earliest days when two Lafayette churches came together under a single roof, to today as a community of believers drawn from all over Sussex County, the Bible has been and continues to be central in all that we do. Whether gathering on Sunday mornings, coming together in Life Groups and Bible Studies, or meeting up in our one-on-one relationships, we do so to hear from God and speak God’s truth into each other’s lives. 

      We deeply believe in its transforming power that, through it, God continues his work of calling us back to himself, introducing us to his Son, and showing us what it looks like to live rightly under his loving reign.

      Deeply saturated with the Bible’s story of God’s great work in our world, we at Lafayette Bible Church likewise share a heart to join God in furthering that work ourselves, in our own lives, in the lives of our families and friends, and in the life of our church. 

      Since its earliest days, those who have called LBC home have shared a desire to personally grow in their competence in God’s Word, in their character as God’s children, and in their commitment to God’s Son. This has likewise included a desire to see God’s work furthered in our families and in our community of faith, and to see that work ultimately overflow into the communities in which we live.

      Our passion to further God’s work has found one of its fullest expressions in our heart to reach God’s world, from the four corners of the communities in which we live to the four corners of the globe. 

      Lafayette Bible Church has a rich and deeply rooted commitment to missions, locally, nationally, and internationally. Our desire is to reach both our neighborhoods and the nations with the good news of Jesus Christ. In everything we do we seek to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus.

      In short, we’re following Jesus by growing Jesus-followers, and we want to invite you to join us for the journey.
